Streamlining MRI Analysis with Privacy-Compliant DICOM Processing
At Accelvision, we collaborated with an innovative spinout from a prominent research institution to enhance their MRI analysis workflow while ensuring patient privacy. The client needed a secure, browser-based solution to remove personally identifiable information (PII) from DICOM files and extract images for deep learning analysis.
Our contributions included:
- Implementing Privacy-Compliant DICOM Processing: We developed a localized web application that allows users to upload DICOM files, automatically strip PII, and securely extract MRI images for downstream analysis.
- Seamless Browser-Based Functionality: The solution eliminates the need for complex software installations, enabling streamlined processing directly through a browser.
This solution forms a critical component of the client’s broader application, which standardizes geometric measurements of spinal discs using computer vision models to improve the accuracy of their proprietary regression model for predicting spinal surgery complications. The result is a secure, efficient, and scalable workflow that bridges privacy compliance with cutting-edge medical analytics.
